NACD extends a heartfelt thanks to the many individuals, groups and organizations that support our awards. We especially want to thank AEM and NRCS for their contributions and our partners; the National Association of RC&D Councils, National Conservation Districts Employees Association and the National Association of State Conservation Agencies.

NACD Friend of Conservation Award - The Friend of Conservation Award recognizes an individual, business, organization, agency, etc. outside the association for outstanding contributions to the conservation of our nation's natural resources.

NACD Distinguished Service Award - The NACD Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual within the association who has made significant contributions to the conservation and proper management of our nation’s natural resources.

NACD President’s Award - Chosen by the NACD President, this award recognizes an individual or organization that has been especially helpful or active with regard to conservation during the President's term.

Recognition of Service - Outgoing President, Bill Wilson, and outgoing board member Mike Mosel received special recognition.

Diversity Awards - Three Partnership Diversity awards recognize a conservation district, an RC&D Council and a state conservation agency that are addressing diversity needs to improve delivery of conservation programs.

Excellence in Communications Awards - The Excellence in Communications Awards recognize conservation districts for their outstanding overall communications efforts. The communication awards are sponsored by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

District Excellence Awards - The District Excellence Awards recognize conservation districts for excellence and successful initiatives in one of the following policy/program areas:

  • Agricultural Lands Resources
  • District Operations
  • Wildlife and Environment
  • Forest Resources
  • Grazing Lands and Public Lands Resources
  • Urban, Community, and Coastal Resources
  • Water Resources
  • Stewardship and Education

These awards are selected by the NACD national committees.

 Collaborative Conservation Award - The Collaborative Conservation Award recognizes conservation districts that are carrying out, with their partners, outstanding community and collaborative conservation projects that have a significant positive impact on the community resource base. One national winner will be selected from a pool of seven regional winners. The regional winners are selected by state leaders and their national board members.

NACD/NRCS Earth Team Award - This award recognizes a conservation district making outstanding use of volunteers to build their programs and server their customers

Quota Recognition Award Winners - NACD appreciates the support of our members.

Photo Contest - A picture can be worth more than a thousand words. NACD partners with the Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts and the Auxiliary to sponsor an annual photo contest to recognize that good photographs can lend a helping hand to numerous projects. The award recognizes individuals who use the tool of photography effectively and creatively.

National Poster Contest - The Washington County Soil Conservation District in Maryland has partnered with NACD and the NACD Auxiliary to conduct the annual Poster Contest. The poster contest follows the Soil and Water Stewardship theme.
