The Upper Big Blue District directly reached about 10,000 people with its "Fantastic Fun – River Run" educational exhibit. For the past two years, the district's 30-foot-long Harmony River has been featured at events around the state, educating people of all ages about river systems. The brainchild of district Public Relations Specialist Scott Snell, the model consists of 15 trapezoids that stand about a foot tall. In addition to direct contact at events, heavy media coverage told the river's story to thousands more. That's the power of conservation for you!

The district's "Riparian & Oak Woodland" posters educated school-aged children and the public about local plant and animal communities.
